Loved this place. Large and roomy, and blocks from the beach. Hot tub isn't private, and there's no fence to separate you from Nehalem Rd., which means that dogs need to be watched/leashed if left outside to enjoy the day. (My guy just likes laying in the sun, but I couldn't trust him out there alone, and his leash is only 6 ft long, which doesn't give a lot of room to move, so I had to attend to him a lot.)
We loved the house and the location! What a perfect Father's Day weekend. We will definitely return soon.
This was a great home with lots of space for two families with young children. The kids loved all the different rooms and spaces and we made an adventure out of the 2-block walk to the beach. It would be nice if you could stock houses with a few more basics...inexpensive cooking oil, for example, would be nice. A blender would be a welcomed addition as would some throw blankets for the living room. We'll likely stay there again!
House is well set up for a large group reunion or family gathering. Extra large dining room accomodates 8 people at table, with window bench for others. Comforatble living room with cable TV great for watching games. Free wi-fi worked great. Hot tub was on and hot when we got there-nice touch! Everyone enjoyed the house.
We've staying in many places in Manzanita over the years, and this place takes the cake. The perfect setting for our family reunion. The table was big enough to fit everyone - with a fire burning in the fireplace in the back ground. Well stocked kitchen, nice hot tub, a wonderfully decorated home, nice floor plan for a group. We'll be back!
It was a great house for our family one exception, we really needed a baby gate for the stairs as you know babies love to climb and scare ya! she kept us on our toes! Now we need a vacation!
We enjoyed our stay and the house. Thanks.
We loved the Bella Mar. The house is really bright, beautiful, and nicely furnished (unlike many other homes we've stayed at on the coast, which can tend to be a bit grubby.) The rooms are all lovely, and the hot tub is fabulous. The house is great for toddlers, too. It is very close to the beach, but probably too far from the town center for most to walk. (So be prepared to drive into town for groceries if you need them.) Thumbs up. We'll be back!
Clean, much larger than in photos, very comfortable beds. Convenient to Nehalem Bay State Park, beach and downtown area.
I had a great time and I loved the house.
Beautiful home. Lots of space and very clean. We stay there everytime we're in Manzanita. Can't wait to go back!
We really enjoyed our stay at this great house! The only tiny constructive comment I have is there was no juice pitcher and very few small and medium serving bowls. These were minor inconveniences, and we got along without them.
This house has such a nice feel. I was particularly fond of the reading room. Felt like a European library! Loved it-thanks for the terrific hospitality :)
A beautiful house for our stay on the coast. Plenty of space, great kitchen, lovely living room. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend.
The Bella Mar was a great house--very comfortable for our group of 10 (kids and adults) with nicer furnishings, linens, etc. than one usually finds in a rental home, a great hot tub and cozy fireplace, and just a short walk to our favorite Oregon beach. Thank you Sunset Vacation Rentals!
The spring weather turned into a winter storm for most of the week with plenty of rain, hail (snow in the mountains) and 80 mph winds that created a beachcomber’s delight at LOW TIDE with a selection of Japanese glass floats, bottles and driftwood. There’s a good selection of books and jigsaw puzzles to help pass the time and relax. Our one recommendation is that the owners provide their renters with a more contemporary, larger, flat screen TV for those days when stormy weather traps you at home.
myself and 7 friends decided to get away for the weekend, and this was the perfect house to do it. There were enough beds (that were comfortable) and the dining room table actually seated 8 people. The kitchen and dining room are open which makes it nice when cooking, and the kitchen is well stocked. The hot tub was great also. It is a short 2 block walk to the beach.
Here are a few thoughts that would have made our stay even nicer: GARBAGE, the garbage can was full upon arrival and the last thing we are thinking of during our honeymoon is to take out the garbage--someone else's garbage. As a result, there was no where for us to put our accumulated garbage at the end of our stay. HOT TUB, First, the property owner should put up some sort of screen (fence, vegetation) to provide a basic level privacy. Second, it would also be helpful to install some hooks out by the tub for storing robes and towels. FIRE PLACE, please update your web site to state that only presto-logs are to be burned in the fireplace (luckily, that is what we brought with us). TV, update the web site to state that there is a DVD player as well as a VCR player with the house. The web site said only VCR, yet we had to disconnect the DVD to play the VCR tapes we brought with us. BLINDS, the blinds throughout the house do not work very well.
We enjoyed our stay at Bella Mar. What a great house that had plenty of room for everyone. We had never visited Manzanita and we will definitely be back. What a great town! My only slight criticism would be that I thought it would be a shorter walk to the beach. The house sits 2 fairly long blocks from the beach, but once you get there it is awesome. Just spectacular... And the house's blinds need to be replaced. They kept falling off the windows, literally, nearly hitting you every time. But if you can figure them out and plan for the couple block walk, the place is for you. THE HOT TUB WAS AWESOME!
