  Upstairs is very nice. The 2 'bunk' rooms were a bit musty. Adding a pizza cutter would be nice. The propane was almost out (in the yellow) and we weren't sure if we were going to run out, but luckily we didn't.

  This house was advertised for up to 18 people. It could sleep 18 but there was only room for a dozen real good friends in the family room area. The TV was located in one of the bed rooms which made it interesting to watch the Rose Bowl.

  We've been using Sunset Vacation Rentals for many years to book accomodations for our university leadership retreat. The students and staff always enjoy the hospitality and condition of the homes. The Great Escape has a great beach location and almost all appliances in the home were in working condition. We did have a problem with the gas bbq lighting but the maintainence person came out right away and helped me light it. I would recommend putting a new door knob on the front door as the current one is difficult to use due to rust and give a good cleaning to the BBQ. Thanks! We look forward to using one of your properties next year!

  Great rental staff - very helpful.
  The house is close to the beach and in good shape for a beach house. We had a great time.
  The only complaints were need more seating in the upstairs. New couches would be great.
  The fees on top of the rates were pretty steep and for the cost of the cleaning fee they asked you do do a lot of cleaning.
  With a large group, it is very hard to do all the laundary, and dishes and get everything dry and put away while you are trying to pack your cars and be out by 11am. This kind of ruins your last day in the house. For the amount that is charged you should be able to leave the sheets and towels in a pile by the washer and clean dishes in the dishwasher. We found we were sitting around waiting for all the loads to be done. So if you stay here....start the wash the day before you leave. :o)

  The house and location were great. House was well stocked too! The downsides were that the code to get in had changed and no one notified us: the bunk room downstairs has no door and you can hear everything said upstairs making sleep hard; and a house meant to hold large groups should have more than one trash can outside.

  It was a nice, roomy place with a lovely big kitchen and living room area and the separate sleeping are options for the kids was great. Liked the close proximity to the beach!

  One of the downstairs bedroom windows does not lock, which made me semi-uncomfortable because of vulnerability to break-ins or theft while we were there. The hot tub worked great and was nice and clean. Plenty of clean towels and linens to use. Home in nice condition and clean. Plenty of dishes/silverware/cookware available. The appliances worked well.
